Mentoring is a way to honor and share the knowledge and expertise of each graduate of I Am Proof, and to provide their peers with the skills and talents to their specific knowledge of empathy.
The I Am Proof program motivates participants to volunteer in their own communities. Despite their busy schedules, many young people are concerned about what is going on in their neighborhoods, and around the world, and are looking for ways to get involved.
Here are some facts:
In a survey of nearly 1,000 young people commissioned by Prudential, 95 percent of those interviewed said they felt it’s important for people to volunteer. Almost two-thirds of those respondents said individual responsibilities is the best way to address community issues. Sixty-seven percent indicated they devote some of their time to volunteer activities.
Volunteering can expand your horizons and become a satisfying lifelong commitment.
